High Resolution ICP-MS

High Mass resolution is the gold standard for the identification and elimination of interferences. Elimination of interferences enables accurate and reliable quantitative multi-element analyses at trace levels, even without sample preparation. This family of products includes the Element 2, the Element XR and the Element GD. All three instruments are built on the world renowned Element 2 platform.


The Element 2 is a high performance, double focusing magnetic sector field ICP-MS optimized for ease-of-use, stability and productivity. It provides access to a powerful technique to solve a specific problem, combined with excellent sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. The capability of high mass resolution is a feature unique to the Element 2 and XR product lines.  This ability can be used for quantification and isotope ratio analysis for nearly the whole periodic table, and almost all matrices.


The Element XR combines a dual mode SEM with a Faraday detector. Through this combination of a single Faraday collector with the SEM, the linear dynamic range of the Element XR ICP-MS has been increased to twelve orders of magnitude when compared to the ELEMENT 2.


The Element GD features a glow discharge ion source in a high resolution mass spectrometer for the direct analysis of conductive material. The Element GD is tailored to serve high purity metal manufacturers as well as their consumers. The ion source and sample holder are designed for easy sample changeover, offering routine operation and high throughput.
