IRMS TRAINING COURSES- UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA

The Isomass IRMS Training Centre at the University of Ottawa is the authorized Thermo Fisher IRMS Training Centre for the Americas. The regularly scheduled courses familiarize Thermo Fisher instrument users with instrument operations as well as regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic practices that are so essential to the long term reliability of both the instruments and the results that they produce.

From sampling to data handling (calibration, normalization, etc.), attendees learn to make informed decisions regarding materials and techniques for standardizing to the international scales (SMOW, PDB, etc.). And, in addition to practical tips and tricks on how to get the most out of the instruments, attendees also learn to make adaptive modifications to their existing systems for special or unconventional applications. Key to the success of these courses is the small class sizes which facilitate the hands-on participation of each attendee.
